I've Been in the Trenches. I Get It.
I didn't start my career behind a desk crunching numbers. I started it building things from the ground up — a housekeeping department, a team, a revenue model that took a company from $1M to $4M in four years. I wore every hat there was — Director of Finance, HR lead, General Manager — sometimes all at once.
It started when a property management company in the Hudson Valley hired me to clean their properties — multi-million dollar homes in Sullivan County, New York. They appreciated my work and asked me to build their entire housekeeping department from scratch. I created standardized procedures, built a pricing menu and became their General Manager of Housekeeping. Then they asked me to manage their books too.
I had the education to back it up — an MBA in Accounting — so I said yes. Over the next ten years I helped grow that business from one employee to over 30, expanded operations from Sullivan County into Ulster County, and launched a short-term rental management model that drove the revenue growth that I'm so proud of.
In December 2025 I was laid off. And instead of looking for another job, I decided to build something of my own. Sharp Bookkeeping Insights LLC opened in February 2026 — and every single thing I've learned along the way goes into the work I do for my clients.

Before I stepped into finance full time, I spent years studying how people communicate, how they process stress and how they work through difficult situations. That training didn't go away when I became a bookkeeper — it just showed up differently.
It means I ask better questions. It means I listen before I advise. It means that when you sit across from me and tell me your books are a disaster, what you're going to get from me is a calm, practical plan — not a raised eyebrow.
